The law regulating export controls was amended in April 2020 (R.D. 494/2020, 28 April). As a result, the Interministerial Committee for Trade and Control of Defence Equipment and Dual-use Technologies (Junta Interministerial para el Comercio y Control del Material de Defensa y Tecnologías de Doble Uso, JIMDDU), which is in charge of assessing export authorization, ‘may, exceptionally, establish mechanisms for verification, monitoring and collaboration with respect to the goods exported in particular operations with the collaboration of the government of the importing country. As a consequence of this amendment, a new EUC template was produced with the addition of a verification clause.
